My Favorite Things

Elaine Lee - President

No matter the trip duration, over night or two weeks out, I always use one set of luggage: Filson. www.filson.com. For those of you that know the quality of these products, you no doubt have a few pieces already.

I won't travel without my Apple iPod. The lastest toys allow you to catch up your podcasts and audio books / shows while on the plane. Do yourself a favour though and get a really great pair of earphones.

The Smartparts Digital Picture Frame with SyncPix technology has the capability to store up to 3,000 images, create organized slide shows, rearrange the picture display and add images without the use of the computer or the internet (although that option exists as well).

GPS to the rescue. I use a portable GPS for the city, plus take it with me when travelling. Saves me loads of stress as I can see exactly where I'm going. Coming in the next quarter is the new Garmin nuvi880.
This special travel toy links up to MSN Direct to allow for on-demand travel information. The system will have a wider screen for easier sight, speech recognition, hands-free calling and a FM transmitter. One can also download real-time local weather, traffic, gas prices in the region, plus track your stock information.

Coming in the third quarter of 2008, the Garmin nuivfone. This sleek toy is an "all in one touchscreen device". It combines, cell phone, messaging, internet browsing and GPS all in one.  I'll no doubt stick to my blackberry, but it's great to see travel gaggits being combined.

BioCert Odyssey ClipBio Biometric Flash Drive

If you have confidential data on your laptops, the ClipBio flash drive is the padlock you need. Locked by way of your own finger print, if stolen, the thief will  not be able open it. The ClipBio costs approximately $229 US for one gigabyte capacity, other products are also available.

For more information, call (360) 331-1071 or visit www.clipbio.com.

Favourite places to go:
Mt. Assiniboine Lodge. No other place on earth is quite like it. I strongly suggest you go there to escape the mind chatter and constant noise that invades our lives.  http://www.canadianrockies.net/assiniboine/lodge.html
The main lodge is situated at an elevation of 7,200 feet and flanked on one side by Mount Assiniboine, Canada's Matterhorn. The lodge is owned by BC Parks and has been managed by Sepp and Barb Renner since 1983.
